Olympia SDS presents the Northwest DNC/RNC Resistance Conference! On February 9th, 2008, activists from around the Northwest are cordially invited to participate in a day full of workshops, networking, and food! Workshops will focus on topics ranging from street tactics to supporting the protests, even if you aren’t going. Other workshops will include shields, lockboxes, a presentation from street medics, and other tactical and strategic workshops. In the evening, we will have speakers from Recreate 68 (Denver, CO) and RNC Welcoming Committee (Twin Cities, MN) discussing their plans for the conventions.

Where/When:
The conference will be held at the Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA. At 10 AM, there will be coffee and assorted fruits and bagels available. Workshops will commence at noon. In the evening, we will present our speakers.

What are the DNC and RNC?
The DNC is the Democratic National Convention and the Republican National Convention. The DNC will happen August 24th-28th, 2008 in Denver, CO. The RNC will happen September 1st-4th, 2008 in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.

I live far away. Can I crash in Olympia?
We will have a limited amount of housing provided for folks who are travelling a long distance. Contact olympiasds(a)riseup.net for more information.

What about kids?

How do I get there?
How to Get to the Evergreen Olympia Campus
From north or south:
1. Take Interstate 5 to Olympia.
2. Turn onto Highway 101 at Exit 104.
3. Go west on 101 North for three miles.
4. Take The Evergreen State College exit.
5. Go two miles north on the Evergreen Parkway to the main campus entrance (at the roundabout).
From the west:
1. Go east on Highway 101 North toward Olympia.
2. Take the Aberdeen/Shelton exit.
3. Turn left at the stop sign onto 2nd Ave SW, which becomes Mud Bay Road.
4. Follow the road’s curve to the right and continue up the hill.
5. At the hill’s top, just beyond the overpass, turn left at The Evergreen State College exit.
6. Merge onto Evergreen Parkway.
7. Go two miles north to the main campus entrance (at the roundabout).
