Hey,
As you may have heard, the RNC Welcoming Committee is hosting a second planning convergence, pReNC 5.3, on May 3rd of this year. This time around, what we have in mind is an intense, all-day strategizing and organizing session. It’ll be stripped of all the pReNC’s fanfare, in favor of getting down to business- that means no designer SWAG, no red carpets, no wild after-parties. Of course, the next day is Minneapolis’ famous Mayday Parade, and we hope you’ll stick around for that, too.
So we’re looking into different options in terms of how to manage attendance and make the event as constructive and productive as possible. Should this event be invite-only? Should we require RSVPs? None of the above?
Obviously, we’re still in the planning stages, and wanted to take the opportunity to solicit and incorporate honest feedback from anyone out there who came to the pReNC and wants to share their thoughts with us. What went well? What could/should we have done differently? What did you think of the security and registration procedures we had in place?
And if you considered coming but didn’t do so in the end, why not? Was there anything we could have done differently that would have brought you out?
So email us, pReNC(a)riseup.net, or talk to us in person (check for upcoming Tour Stops in your area), and tell us what you think.
Yours in struggle,
the RNC Welcoming Committee
